What happened in the final arc wasn’t just about defeating Muzan. It was about watching everything the characters stood for finally come full circle. 

At first, the story sets up what feels like the ultimate hopeless battle. Muzan is stronger, faster, and more relentless than ever. Every Hashira, every slayer, throws themselves into the fight knowing death is almost guaranteed. The tension builds with each passing chapter, and it’s not just about whether they’ll win—it’s about how much they’ll have to lose along the way.

Then comes the reveal that changes everything. Nezuko, the girl we’ve known as a demon all this time, finally becomes human again. Not only that, she conquers the sun itself. The very thing Muzan has chased for centuries ends up resting within her, but instead of being used as his weapon, it becomes a symbol of hope. And just when you think the victory is secured, Muzan plays his final card—he forces his will into Tanjiro, turning him into the new Demon King. Seeing the boy who fought so hard for his sister suddenly become the very thing he hated was one of the darkest twists in the series.

The impact of this moment can’t be overstated. The fight shifts from killing Muzan to saving Tanjiro. His friends risk everything, not to end him, but to pull him back from the edge. And it works. Against all odds, Tanjiro returns, human once more, with Nezuko by his side. Muzan is destroyed, and the curse of the demons finally ends. But the victory doesn’t feel clean. Too many lives were lost, too much was sacrificed, and the weight of it lingers even in the last moments.

Looking back, that’s what makes the Demon Slayer ending stay with me.
